Duties & Responsibilities:
Increase customer satisfaction by effecting repairs correctly the first time. Accomplish and maintain a high level of efficiency. Maintain standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations.
General Qualifications:
- Two years experience as a technician in the automotive industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Speak fluent English.
- Able to read English language and write legibly.
- Possess a valid driver’s license (Issued from state where employed).
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess necessary tools to perform the required tasks.
- Capable of achieving and maintaining ASE certifications
- Capable of achieving and maintaining your Maryland State Inspectors license
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with co-workers and management.
- Bondable.
- Able to diagnose repairs needed on automobiles.
- Able to perform repairs and maintenance on automobiles.
- Proficient with Google Workspace.
- Able to read schematics.
- Able to operate all company equipment needed to perform required tasks.
- Be dependable, punctual and reliable.
- Able to achieve and maintain an efficiency of 125%.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Neat appearance and in company provided uniforms and attire at all times
- Uniforms buttoned
- Other branded hoodies/hats/shirts not allowed
- Attend and participate in meetings as required by management.
- Attend and participate in training classes as required by management.
- Report problem areas to management.
- Notify management of possession or use of illegal drugs by customer(s) and/or employee(s).
- Maintain a clean facility daily.
- Maintain a low rate of comeback repairs at less than 2% of vehicles serviced.
- Maintain valid state driver’s license (Issued in state of employment).
- Achieve and maintain ASE certifications
- Achieve and maintain Maryland State Inspector’s license
- Attend and complete company hazard communication standard and worker right-to-know training.
- Take all possible precautions to insure the safety and health of you and others.
- Purchase and maintain tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Report shop tools, equipment, and facilities in need of repair.
- Clock in and out of repair orders in Tekmetric.
- Clock in and out of time clock in Tekmetric and Gusto accurately.
- Request work assignment if out of work or temporarily unable to complete a job.
- Perform work assignments in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the Service Advisor.
- Check all vehicles before driving for an expired license.
- If expired, advise the Manager.
- Provide complete and accurate descriptions of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance performed in the digital inspection in Tekmetric.
- Note, in Tekmetric, any additional repairs necessary and/or any condition that may require special explanation to the customer.
- Perform all maintenance and repair with speed and thoroughness.
- Daily billable hour requirements:
- 4 billable hours per working day - Under 2 years experience
- 6 billable hours per working day - 2-5 years experience
- 8 billable hours per working day - over 5 years experience
- Notify Service Advisor if parts need to be ordered or delays are expected.
- Assist in expediting the ordering of parts.
- Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned to repair.
- Perform Quality Control Inspections in Tekmetric and “Mark Complete.”
- Road test all repairs to ensure they are repaired correctly the first time.
- Notify service advisor of parts used on invoice as well as quantity.
- Move any new unused parts or core parts to the proper parts return location.
- Park and lock all vehicles in an orderly fashion in designated areas.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all other personnel.
